Frequently Asked Questions
How does Dolby Atmos work in Aavante Prime X?
Dolby Atmos in the soundbar adds a sense of height and depth to your audio experience. With the integrated upward-firing speakers that bounce sound off the ceiling for projecting it vertically, the soundbar creates a realistic overhead audio effect. This makes it feel as if the sound is coming from all around you, not just from the front or sides. By combining forward-firing speakers, dual subwoofers, and upward-firing speakers, Aavante Prime X creates an immersive, 3D effect so you can hear crisp dialogue, dynamic effects, and rich bass from every direction as intended.
What types of content are best experienced in Dolby Atmos using this soundbar?
You can play supported content from OTT platforms (specifically displaying the Dolby Atmos logo) that offer selected movies and series mixed in Dolby Atmos, allowing you to enjoy immersive, multidimensional sound with the soundbar. To experience Dolby Atmos properly, ensure that your TV and connected devices (like TV streaming sticks or set-top boxes) have Dolby Atmos enabled in their audio or channel settings. You can also adjust additional audio settings on your TV to optimize sound quality.
Please note that YouTube and music streaming apps do not currently support Dolby Atmos audio, so playback from these platforms will be in standard stereo or surround sound rather than Dolby Atmos.
What are the basic device requirements to enjoy Dolby Atmos using Aavante Prime X?
To experience Dolby Atmos audio with Aavante Prime X, make sure that you have the following requirements in place:
1. Compatible TV or Playback Device:
The TV, streaming stick, set-top box, or gaming console must support Dolby Atmos output via HDMI (e-ARC). HDMI (e-ARC) [Enhanced Audio Return Channel] allows your TV to send audio to the soundbar through a single HDMI cable without compression, thereby simplifying setup and supporting high-quality sound formats.
2. High-speed HDMI Cable:
Use an HDMI 2.1 cable to connect the soundbar to your TV, as regular HDMI cables may not transmit the complete Dolby Atmos signal.
3. Correct Audio Settings:
If Dolby Atmos is not auto-activated in the audio eARC settings, please set the sound output mode to HDMI eARC/ARC or external Dolby Atmos or Auto mode or External Sound System. In addition, digital audio output mode should be set as automatic or decoded output as Dolby Atmos or Pass through in your TV’s audio settings. Please make sure that the digital audio output mode is not set to PCM.
4. Soundbar Settings:
Also, ensure the soundbar connectivity mode is set to HDMI by pressing the Mode button on the soundbar control panel or on the remote.
Dolby Atmos will automatically activate when the compatible content is played. There is no need for manual activation once the soundbar is connected properly. If Dolby Atmos does not auto-activate, please recheck the HDMI cable type, connection port, and your TV audio settings.

Where should I place the soundbar, subwoofers, and the satellite speakers?
- Soundbar Position: Place the soundbar centrally below or above your TV, facing directly toward the listening area. Avoid blocking the TV’s sensors or placing it behind objects. Ensure that the forward-firing speakers are unobstructed by any objects or furniture. For best results, ensure there’s a flat, reflective ceiling approximately 8–12 feet high and that the soundbar is not placed inside a cabinet or under a shelf.
- Subwoofer Placement: Position the subwoofer near the front of the room, close to a wall or corner, and keep it unobstructed for consistent bass output.
- Wireless Rear Satellite Speakers: Place the rear satellite speakers slightly behind the main listening position and at ear height. Ideally, position them 2–3 meters to the left and right of the seating area for balanced surround effects. Please do not roof-mount the rear satellite speakers, as this can affect sound direction and imaging. Maintain an equal distance from the center listening position for uniform sound distribution. In Prime X the satellites can also be docked into the soundbar.
- After placement, fine-tune the rear satellite volume and bass levels to match your room’s acoustics for optimum listening comfort.
What to expect when playing Dolby and non-Dolby content over HDMI on my Dolby Atmos soundbar?
- The soundbar delivers Dolby Atmos-supported content in an immersive manner wherein the rear satellites primarily reproduce ambient sounds, background effects, and directional cues, while dialogues remain focused through the main forward-firing speakers. Additionally, the dual subwoofers handle low-frequency effects, enhancing the overall cinematic experience.
- When connected via HDMI (e-ARC)/(ARC), the audio output from the soundbar, subwoofer, and rear satellite speakers depends on whether the source content is Dolby-supported or not.
- Dolby-supported content activates surround audio with dynamic effects automatically, while non-Dolby content plays in a stereo-like configuration with dynamic Dolby effects disabled.
Can I use my soundbar with Bluetooth?
Yes, Aavante Prime X supports wireless Bluetooth connectivity for streaming music directly from your phone, tablet, or computer. After powering on, press the Mode (M) button on the soundbar or remote control to enable Bluetooth mode.
How does the soundbar operate in Bluetooth mode?
When connected via Bluetooth, the soundbar will operate in Stereo mode, regardless of the content type or your media device. So, whether you are playing music, movies, or any other media, the audio transmitted over Bluetooth will remain two-channel stereo.
What is the audio output from the rear satellite speakers when streaming music over Bluetooth?
When music is streamed via Bluetooth, the rear satellite speakers will play the standard stereo or multi-channel audio derived from the source with vocals. Please note that Dolby Atmos or Dolby Audio effects cannot be transmitted over Bluetooth, as these formats require HDMI (e-ARC)/(ARC) connections or optical inputs. So, immersive 3D sound can be experienced only when playing Dolby Atmos-enabled content through supported wired or OTT connections, and not via Bluetooth.
What are the ideal subwoofer and rear satellite volume settings for this soundbar?
For an optimal surround sound experience in a standard room setup, we recommend the following settings as a starting point:
- Bass (Subwoofer): Level 3
- Rear Satellite Speaker Volume: Level 5
Note: The above values are suggested reference points and may vary based on your room’s acoustics, furniture placement, and personal listening preferences. You can fine-tune the bass and rear satellite levels to achieve the sound balance that best suits your environment.
Why is there no sound coming from my soundbar?
Please make sure that the soundbar is powered on, the correct input source is selected, and the TV’s audio output is set to the right connection.
